About Guidelite
We think an organization should be able to see its own strategy clearly, without hiring somebody to interpret it.
Why we built it
Mission-driven organizations are not short on commitment, and they are certainly not short on reporting. They produce strategic plans, risk registers, board packets and funder updates constantly. The trouble is that nearly all of it is made for somebody else, after the fact — and by the time it exists, the decision it should have shaped has already been made.
We built Guidelite so that planning and reporting stop being two jobs. Goals, the work beneath them, the risks against them and the results they produce all refer to each other, so the picture stays current on its own. Nobody assembles it the week before the meeting, and nobody has to take a status update on faith.
That matters most for the organizations without a strategy department — which is most of them. Rigorous planning has always been available to anyone who could afford consultants to run it. We would rather put the method in the hands of the people doing the work.
